Justificante de pago: Proof that a payment was made
Understand justificante de pago, what to check and the practical steps to take.
What does it mean?
A justificante de pago is evidence of payment. For some AEAT payments, the receipt includes an NRC payment-reference code.
Evidence of payment is not always evidence that an associated application or tax return was successfully submitted.
An everyday example
Paying an application fee and submitting the application can be separate actions.
What to do next
- Ask what form of payment evidence the receiving office accepts.
- Check the payer, amount, date and reference against the requirement.
- Download and retain the official receipt after payment.
- If confirmation is missing, check the payment status before paying again.
A useful question to ask
Do you need the payment receipt, the submission receipt, or both?
