Arrendatario: The tenant’s side of the agreement

← Browse all 60 words

What does it mean?

Arrendatario means tenant: the party taking the property under the rental agreement.

Being named as an occupant is not necessarily the same as being a tenant who signs the contract.

An everyday example

If a couple moves in, check how both people are described in the agreement.

What to do next

  1. Check which people are named as tenants and which are occupants.
  2. Read the payment, care-of-property and notification terms.
  3. Keep an inventory and dated records of any pre-existing damage.
  4. Get advice before agreeing changes you do not understand.

A useful question to ask

Who is signing as tenant, and what responsibilities does each person accept?
